2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 vs Mercedes-Benz ML350

Mercedes-Benz' recent reshuffling of its vehicle naming structure has led the rebranding of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, which will be known as the GLE-Class beginning with the 2016 model year. Although the GLE-Class is essentially the M-Class, Mercedes-Benz refreshed the midsize SUV for 2016. As we take a closer look at some of the key changes from 2015 to 2016, we'll specifically be comparing the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 vs Mercedes-Benz ML350, as the 350 model has consistently been the most popular of the SUV's range.

One of the most significant updates is the addition of two variations to the GLE-Class range. A new GLE550e plug-in hybrid and AMG GLE 63 S are added to the product lineup, giving drivers additional fuel-efficient- and performance-focused SUV options.

In terms of styling, you'll notice some new exterior cues while the SUV retains its overall character. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE features more dramatic hood creases and a few noticeable changes in the front fascia, but the notable C-Pillar and wraparound rear glass remain present in the new model.

2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE replaces the Mercedes-Benz M-Class

The interior of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class features more striking differences than its exterior, starting with the COMAND display. Where the ML350 features a completely integrated display, the GLE350 features a screen that is partially integrated into the center console. With the top peaking over the dash, it becomes the striking centerpiece of the interior. The movement of the screen allows for more space in the center console, making controls more intuitively located and the overall layout more modern.
