Features of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience Infotainment System
Mercedes-Benz prides itself as a brand on delivering premium quality and cutting-edge features. For the 2019 model year, the brand will be leading the charge once again with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience multimedia system. Abbreviated as “MBUX” this radically intuitive and intelligent system will make its world debut on the 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class when it hits markets around the world later this year. However, we want to explore some of the new features of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience infotainment system ahead of its arrival at our dealership in Merriam KS.This touch-sensitive system will eventually be available on all new Mercedes-Benz models and deliver multiple elite new advantages.
Touch and Voice Inputs
Drivers who get to enjoy the new Mercedes-Benz User Experience will be able to enjoy multiple control systems. This infotainment suite will introduce a central touchscreen for the first time on a Mercedes-Benz vehicle while also accepting inputs from the central touchpad and steering wheel controls. The system will also respond to natural-language commands prefaced with “Hey Mercedes”, bringing a new level of convenience to this model.
One of the new features of the Mercedes-Benz Use Experience will be artificial intelligence that learns individual preferences to simplify the lives of busy drivers and passengers. From learning regular destinations, to anticipating weekly phone-calling patterns, the MBUX will be able to learn the habits and profile of up to two drivers and almost become a personal assistant in evaluating traffic patterns and needs.
In addition to connectivity advantages like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, the new MBUX will also offer new levels of Mercedes me connectivity. Some features that will likely be available include car-to-car communication, vehicle locating services, departure reminders, and online integration so that Mercedes me information can be displayed on the central screen of the MBUX.
Display Screens With the MBUX System
Several new Mercedes-Benz vehicles are now offering large display screens, but the Mercedes-Benz Use Experience will feature a multi-layered approach to optimize information in the driver cockpit area without taking up excessive screen room. The main displayed level will be the Homescreen that will offer updates on current activities (like navigation, or music and media that is being used). Drivers who want to make a change to the channel or navigation will be able to reach the Basescreen, just past the Homescreen, easily. Submenus will have less important information.
The main screens will offer plenty of customization options, and the entire system is oriented toward getting drivers the information they need with a minimum of hassle. There will even be an available head-up display to put important exactly where drivers can see it without taking their eyes from the road.
